Licensed drivers and licensed vehicles
Every MyTaxi Barnstaple driver holds a current private hire driver licence, and every
vehicle on our fleet is licensed and inspected. Licensing is not a formality: it covers
enhanced background checks, medical fitness and regular mechanical inspections, and it is
what separates a licensed firm from an unlicensed lift arranged through a message.
Properly insured for carrying passengers
Our vehicles carry full private hire insurance for carrying paying passengers. This is a
legal requirement for licensed operators and is not something an ordinary private car
insurance policy covers — a distinction that matters a great deal in the event of a
collision.
Drivers who actually know North Devon
Our drivers live and work here. They know which route out of town is quickest at school
run time, which side of the Square to wait on for a pickup, and how much time to allow on
the A361 for a morning flight from Exeter or Bristol. On a time-critical journey, that
local knowledge is the practical difference between arriving early and arriving anxious.
A fare agreed before you travel
We quote the fare up front rather than leaving you watching a meter climb. For airport
transfers and long-distance work in particular, knowing the cost before the car arrives
is the thing passengers tell us they value most.
Available every hour of the year
We run 24 hours a day, seven days a week, including bank holidays and Christmas Day.
Hospital appointments, night shifts, early departures and late trains do not keep office
hours, and neither do we.
