Reliable Taxi Service & Transport Solutions!
MyTaxi Barnstaple runs to and from Barnstaple railway station around the clock, timed to the train rather than to a guessed pickup slot. The Tarka Line service to Exeter is not frequent, so missing one because the taxi was late costs you the best part of an hour, not five minutes — we build the pickup time backwards from the departure board for exactly that reason.
Give us the departure or arrival time, not a pickup time. We work back from the platform, not forward from the front door.
A fixed price confirmed when you book, whether that is a run to the station or on to Exeter St Davids for a mainline connection.
Evening services on the Tarka Line run thin. There is a car waiting for the last train the same as the first.
what we cover
Tell us the departure time and we work the pickup backwards from it, allowing for getting from the car to the platform rather than just to the station forecourt. On the Tarka Line, a missed train usually means the best part of an hour's wait for the next one, so we would rather collect you a little early than leave it tight.
Give us your train time when you book and there will be a car waiting as you come off the platform, including on the last service of the evening when taxis are hardest to find standing at the rank. If the train runs late, tell us the new time or the service number and we adjust rather than leaving.
Barnstaple station sits at the end of the Tarka Line, so most long-distance rail journeys mean changing at Exeter St Davids, with Tiverton Parkway the option for some mainline services. Where the connection is tight or the timing does not suit you, a direct taxi from Barnstaple to Exeter St Davids or to Tiverton Parkway is often quicker than the train leg, and is quoted as one fixed fare rather than built up from the journey in pieces.
Estates and 8 seaters are available for cases, bikes and larger groups travelling together. Tell us what you are carrying when you book, particularly ahead of a long-distance connection, so the right vehicle is sent rather than discovered to be too small on the day.
Plenty of station traffic starts elsewhere in North Devon — Bideford, Ilfracombe, Braunton, South Molton and the villages around them, where there is no station of their own. Those are longer runs to make a train worth booking ahead for, especially for a morning departure.
