Ilfracombe sits on the north coast about twelve miles from Barnstaple, and the road in is hilly and winding rather than fast. We know it well, and we build the right amount of time into every booking rather than optimistically quoting the map.
We cover the harbour and Verity, the High Street, Hillsborough, Lee and the surrounding coastal lanes, along with Combe Martin further along the coast. Late-night pickups after an evening at the harbour are a large part of what we do here.

Getting to and from Ilfracombe
The route from Barnstaple runs up the A361 then across on the B3230 into town. It is around twenty-five minutes in normal conditions, but it is a hillier drive than the distance suggests, and it slows noticeably in poor weather or heavy summer traffic.
If you are heading for a train or a flight, book with plenty of margin. The stretch between Ilfracombe and the A361 is where a delay is most likely to catch you out.
Harbour, seafront and steep streets
Ilfracombe's older streets are narrow and steep, and parking near the harbour is difficult in season. Tell us exactly where you are and the driver will come to you rather than asking you to walk up the hill with luggage.
We pick up from the harbourside, the Landmark Theatre, the Tunnels Beaches end of town and the residential streets above the seafront.
Visitors and holiday travel
A lot of our Ilfracombe work is visitors: transfers from Barnstaple station to holiday accommodation, day trips along the coast to Woolacombe and Combe Martin, and airport runs at the end of a week away.
If you are staying somewhere without easy parking or you have arrived by train, a pre-booked car for the week's key journeys is usually simpler than working around bus timetables.
